The Zip Smokeless Coal is locally sourced and can be used in stoves, open fires, ranges and outdoors. Approved to be used in smoke controlled areas.

Preparation and Usage

Closed Appliances
  • Empty the ash pan and if fitted close the boiler damper.
  • Place a layer of Zip Smokeless Coal on the grate and place 1 or 2 Zip firelighters on the layer of coal.
  • Light the firelighters (long safety matches are recommended). When fully lit, add more Zip Smokeless Coal taking care not to extinguish flames.
  • Open the thermostat or air control fully and close the appliance door.
  • When the fire is established, top up further with Zip Smokeless Coal and open the boiler damper.
Open Fires
  • Empty the ashes and open the air control.
  • Place a layer of Zip Smokeless Coal on the grate and place 1 or 2 Zip firelighters on the layer of coal.
  • Light the firelighters (long safety matches are recommended). When fully lit, add more Zip Smokeless Coal taking care not to extinguish flames.
  • When the fire is established, top up further with Zip Smokeless Coal.
